Yippee - Finally Our Boiler’s Fixed

March 7th, 2008 - Sandra Marshall

FINALLY after about a year our boiler appears to be fixed. We have been having problems with it struggling to fire up, and only ever if we got the hot water going in the utility room first. I blamed the advent of Gas Natural, but it seems the slight change in pressure merely highlighted a problem we already had. Today came Antonio, a really pleasant, recommended Spanish plumber. The solution was to de-scale the inside of our boiler, which apparently in this very hard water area can need doing every year. Anyway I can now highly recommend Antonio. He speaks virtually no English, but we managed to communicate quite well, and he was very good humoured, even when Mori cat wanted to join in; anyone who likes animals gets an extra vote from me, ANd he gave us more lemons as a present.

Yep. I can confirm that this is a widespread problem. We have had to do something similar in the 3 different places we have stayed in here. Also, we have to clear the filters on the end of the taps often. This keeps the water flow up and the hot water reaches the various rooms more quickly.

Good to hear a recommendation of a plumber. May come in useful at some point. Do you have a number for him?
