Windsurf Report

January 8th, 2008 - Sandra Marshall

Further to Chris’s recent article “Well they have the wind!”, here is a report of the event written by one of the competitors, Ludo Jossin a professional windsurfer in Tarifa. Interesting to me and I’m sure more so for anyone into surfing as it all sounds quite technical. I thought everyone only had one surfing board or “blade” as Ludo calls them!

“From 2nd to 5th the first event of the Spanish windsurf tour CNF took place in Almerimar. As I told you the forecast was very good. Day one, we leave early on the monrning with Maria Andres, arrival around 11h30, registration and rigging. I launch fisrt with blade 7.5 and F2 SX L but the wind was quite strong for this staff. Half hour before the first start I was comfortable with 6.2. A really nice down wind slalom was set by our race director Juan Antonio, 5 jibes. 36 guys in four rounds, quarter, semi and final. The wind then drop a little that I use my blade 6.8 and F2 XS L witch was perfect for these conditions. In the final I had a nice start downwind of the fleet and reach the mark in the lead. Salom Podium, I manage to stay in front until the finish line. 2nd Victor Fernandez, 3rd Ramon Pastor.

Day 2, The wind pick up strong during the night and we move to the Camping spot for the waves. The weather was rainy on the morning and the wind 25 to 35knts, dropping a little on the afternoon, I use 4,7 all the day and stop on the semi-final finishing 5th. Without any surprise Victor Fernandez win the final against Ramon Pastor, 3rd place for the impresive Miguel “the tower del Toro.

Day 3 and 4. The wind die for the to last days, so we had a little golf tournament, and a huge dinner wich finish late in the night. Thanks to the organization who did a great job during these days.”

How often do you yourself Windsurf or do you just write about it?

Can I ask though – how did you get this picked up and into google news?

Very impressive that this blog is syndicated through Google and is it something that is just up to Google or you actively created?

Obviously this is a popular blog with great data so well done on your seo success..

Windsurfing greats you should write about next.
