Treasure Hunt Update

March 26th, 2008 - Sandra Marshall

As those of you who listened to me on The Net this morning will know, we are now looking at somewhere between 60 and 70 people taking part in the Treasure Hunt on Saturday night. This is great news, not just for our fund for the Almerimar Strays, but also for the bars involved and the port in general. This time of year things are still pretty quiet, and I’m hoping the event will create a much welcome buzz for early Saturday evening. It also looks like being a really fun event for everyone involved, and although as an organiser I can’t compete, (or drink too much for that matter!) I’m looking forward to a fun evening.

So even if Treasure Hunts are not your thing, Saturday evening from 6pm should be pleasantly lively if you fancy joining us for a drink, and if anyone wants to give a small donation to the fund, the marshals in each of the bars will be happy to receive it, or you can just throw your loose change into the collecting boxes. As we have indicated on our posters, ALL the money raised goes into paying vet bills to help the stray animals, with the clear aim to humanely control the population, as, whilst I love animals, I do realise that large number of strays cats and dogs do cause problems.

Anyway, I’m hoping for a good evening, for the bars of Almerimar as much as the fund-raising, so please take part in any way you feel like and so you know where we´ll all be, here are the names of the bars specifically involved in the event: La Barca, Harbour Lights, Ankara, Loch Ness, La Plaza, La Bahia, MacGowens.

About Almerimar

Almerimar is located in the region of Andalucia, Spain. The nearest airport is 30km away in Almeria. Other airports that are within 3 hours include Malaga, Murcia, Granada, and Alicanti. Other holiday resorts in the region include Mojacar , Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar

Almerimar is a great place to live as an expat amongst the expats, or to work amongst the Spanish. There are all kinds of properties including villas, apartments and town houses for rent or sale. It is a very traditional part of Spain, with traditional Spanish foods so if you plan to travel to Spain either to look for jobs, for your company to trade with companies in Spain, or to learn Spanish and enjoy the Spanish weather then come and take a look.

If you are interested in purchasing a property in Almerimar please visit our sponsors Mirror of the Sun or Mediterraspain

Almerimar is also one of the largest marinas in Spain with over 2,000 births and excellent boatyard facilities.
