Tostadas And Chat

June 20th, 2008 - Sandra Marshall

Ended up down in the port today, just at coffee and ´tostada time´for me. This was interesting following my previous post ¨Tostadas - Jury’s Out”. It was just after 1pm and therefore too late for a tostada at the Milenio, so we headed for La Plaza.

I ordered a tomato, tuna and cheese one and, having read my previous post, Heather asked me if I would like oregano with it! AND said that she is going to start ordering in some integral ones. I even got some home-made herb and garlic oil to drizzle over. This means that my jury is now in, and I’m voting La plaza the best place for tostadas for me, as soon as the integral arrives. (Only kidding Heather. You can have the accolade now)! Chris went for a rather healthy tomato one, which also benefitted from the oregano and garlic oil.

Overall we spent a great couple of hours chilling out in the port and bumping into friends. We also met 2 couples at La Plaza who we had been communicating with online. One guy had been emailing me about the Almerimar strays and overheard us talking about an abortive cat catch, and worked out who we were. Another couple are regular readers of this blog, over to sign for their apartment in Porto Fino. We had a good chat about life here generally, and interestingly they come from Ilkley in Yorkshire, where they have a garden business, which is where Chris’s father’s family come from. Small world!

We also pondered over the state of the property market here in Almerimar, particularly rentals, as they had been talking to Richard of Alcor Properties about renting out their apartment some of the year.

It was good to put some faces to the names and emails.
