Think that is what I said??
So if we dust and hover daily what is there except the bathrooms and windows that would need doing?
If you spend 15 - 20 mins a day dusting and sweeping which after all is the main issue here with all the dust, cats etc. then that just leaves the windows and bathroom (and maybe kitchen) to give a good clean to once a week.

What we used to do is I would do the windows while Sands did the bathrooms and kitchen (if it needed it - rarely does and keep it clean as we go along) so all in all it maybe took an hour.

Maybe it is a 'man thing' but I don't care if someone pops in on the off chance and finds the place looking lived in - after all that is what we do, live in it :-)

Clearly not a cleaner Chris! A quick once over with the brush and a duster takes about 15 mins but doesn´t entail going under things, doing windows and scrubbing out the bathrooms. It merely makes the place look ok if anyone pops in and prevents yoiu from being ankle deep in dust........

But if you keep the place clean on a daily basis what is there for the cleaner to do?

We don't use the oven much at all (certainly not for anything messy i.e. roasts) and we tidy the kitchen as we go along.

So if we dust and hover daily what is there except the bathrooms and windows that would need doing?

Maybe a monthly spring clean for 1/2 a day could make sense, but unless you are mega rich, mega rich or in ill health surely a cleaner is just for the lazy?????? Now I am lazy I admit, but I have never really 'got' the whole cleaner thing to be honest. I know of people who clean before their cleaner turns up as they don't want them to think they live in a mess, or spend time drinking tea and chatting when they are paying them to clean - a weird phenomena it seems to me.

The Dyson won anyway ........... and I am back on window cleaning duty it seems, which I can't complain about given my comment above :-)

AAh so basically the bit that is missing in my quest for a clean apartment is my quick once over daily! Whether I keep my cleaner will I guess depend on how thorough that becomes, and how much my Dyson Baby inspires me!!!

keep your cleaner! I find I have to do some cleaning each day anyway as it is so dusty here. Having my cleaner means that I can do a quick once over daily knowing that she will have a thorough srcub once a week!

Ooh that is a good question! However it's on its way from UK ... ordered... with all its lovely attachments. Only thing is will need a plug adaptor but I'm sure you can sort that one out!
