Just had a conversation with a neighbour about this, and an obvious way for everyone to help is to keep purchases local! Why go to a restaurant outside of Almerimar when you can enjoy a meal here and support local businesses.

Sure we all like variety - but in order for variety to exist we need choice and people keep spending outside of Almerimar then they will only have themselves to blame if the choice is taken away long term.

While things are tough keep the cash local is my moto!!!

Have just read 'Time for business to change in Almerimar'

I totally agree with your thoughts and think businesses need to keep up to date, move with the times and grow their businesses. Businesses in Almerimar probably don't have EPoS systems but operating such a system could offer unlimited opportunities - being able to record customer information such as name , address, frequency of use and so on. Thus, allowing the business owner to offer incentives. A Christmas greetings card is a great place to start. Not only will your customers be delighted that you remember them at this celebratory time of year, but they would be very happy to receive a token (you decide the value - a free glass of wine, two desserts for the price of one, discounted golf) that demonstrates how much you value their business. Should you wish to introduce a little lateral thinking into your offer why not link up with other local businesses offering say a discount on services for every 25 euros spent.
Offer customers some sort of bonus to encourage them to continue using your business/service. Keeping existing members happy is key to maintaining a healthy bank balance.
You could introduce a loyalty bonus card - where you accrue points for every visit resulting in a reward such as a free product/service. You could even time this to coincide with certain times of the year - at easter offering an easter egg for the children( or adults!), in the summer sun tan lotion, at Christmas and new year a bottle of wine or detox product.

There are, of course , a hundred and one ideas you could employ to encourage the public to use your services - the trick is to make sure you not only come up with one for Christmas, but to continue to use them regularly.
