It is early days!!! However, I too have committed to an event later in the year. Similarly, I need incentives to keep me motivated, and have always wanted to take part in one of the big events. With this in mind, I put my name into the ballot for the Great North Run, which I think takes place in September. Surprise, surprise, I was informed last week that my application has been successful, although I am not sure that 'successful' is the correct word. So, it seems that a spot of training will be in order over the next few months. Having not done anything of this kind before, the enormity of the task is just beginning to sink in. However, the entrance money has been paid, and is non- returnable, so there is no turning back now! So there is someone in the same boat as Yourself!! Not quite the same training environment, but it is beginning to get a bit warmer here. I suspect my chosen charity will be 'Cancer Research'. Hasta pronto!
