The Grumpy Old Men Of Los Gallardos 27 June 2010

Greetings from God’s little waiting room, where this week we had the “Bingo BBQ”, and what a brilliant night it was. Music was supplied by a very versatile entertainer, “JC”, resurrected for the occasion, who sang throughout the evening, without a break, giving us renditions of songs we all knew and could sing along to. There was lots of frivolity and jigging about, more so after a few sherbets. The guests of the evening were, once again Aspordalba, who had a wonderful time with us and were sorry when it was time to leave. As is usual, Noah and his good wife organized a raffle of prizes, donated by members of the Bingo Club, which I am very pleased to say, this year raised €366, combined with the Lucky Number draw, run by Auntie Mary, which raised €750 and a few other bits and pieces, gave us a grand total of €1304.00, which was donated to our chosen charity, Asprodalba, a big thank you for raising such a healthy sum. In the draw Grommets wife won a foot spa, which came in very handy, as I was confined to my mobility scooter, and found it difficult to get to the toilet!!! We all had a wonderful night, good food, good music and good company, roll on the next one at Xmas. A big thank you to all those who donated prizes or contributed in any way. I would normally include photos of this event, but the official photographer, Squirrel Nutkins, appears to have mislaid his spectacles and couldn’t download the shots!!!
Other news, a friend of my daughters, who’s a “Trolley Dolly” with Virgin Atlantic, and on the far eastern run, told my daughter that she had heard of a “pig” boarding a KLM flight out of Heathrow, could this have been Porky?
Rumor has it, and it’s only a rumor, that Trucker Tel went down the beach, the other day and got himself thoroughly sunburnt. Those that saw him, said he resembled Michael Jackson on a bad day. He had to stay indoors for a couple of days, but that didn’t stop the neighbors going round with slices of bread to make toast from the heat he generated.
