The Circus (Paris Circo) Is In Almerimar

July 9th, 2008 - Chris Marshall

Paris Circo

Just back from an extremely pleasant bike ride along both the West and the East beach, and through the Marina.

Cycling at 8pm is a great time as the sun is still out (but not too hot), there is a slight breeze, and there are enough people around to make it interesting.

Adding to the interest was the Paris Circo that is setting up along the West beach (just passed the green hut for those wanting a point of reference), with its Camels, Yaks and other various animals. They will be open over the weekend. Apologies that the picture isn’t great, I snapped it with my N95 as I ’shot passed in a blur’ - well in my mind I was cycling fast!!!

West Beach

Ditto this picture of the West beach which was busier than the East beach. Again it just proves that to benefit from what Almerimar has to offer you need to do it the Spanish way! People were only just starting to leave the beach which means that they wont be hitting the bars and restaurants until 9.30 - 10.00.

In general I was pleasantly surprised how busy the beaches were, but they were in no way packed and the marina itself was very quiet.

    Re The Circus
I am surprised that in this day and enlightened age people pay to see large or small animals kept in captivity - usually in appalling conditions - especially in this humid heat.I personally think that all circuses should be banned and the owners prevented from keeping these poor animals in cages - good idea would be to put the circus owners in cages for a period of time!! if the general public didnt pay to see the circus they would soon be out of business. The sooner the better in my opinion.
