Tennis, Long Lunch, Late Drink, Broken Camera!

A Rose Between Two Thorns – Salvador, Sands and Paco
Played tennis in the morning yesterday with Lee (well I tried to play and he ran around still drunk from the night before), so it wasn’t exactly a success. It was fun though and good to be back out doing something again. Lee was a little late on parade so I took the opportunity to test my thigh(s) out kicking a football, and happily they seemed ok. Certainly wasn’t kicking very hard, but no twinges and no reaction today.
After tennis we went to Cafe Minimal for coffee and a tostada (Tuna, Cheese and Tomato). Was Lee’s first visit and he seemed to like it. The main attraction is that it is away from the Square, so if you want to chat in confidence or without disruptions it is a great place to go. As we had a few things to discuss re future Taste Of Spain, marketing services etc it was a good place to go. It is my third office in the marina!!!!
Next up Sands and I had lunch at La Barbera with Salvador to continue the discussions about the joint venture we are doing. Lunch was excellent as always. Salvador picked the wine which was very drinkable (so much so we had a bottle each!):

An Excellent Wine!
As we used to at La Solea, we just picked our way through bread with garlic and tomato, small green peppers, jamon, almonds, beans and ham, and then some grilled calamari. All very pleasant indeed:

Great Food
I have heard and read that some people find La Barbera noisy. Well it is ………. deliberately so. Anyone who knows Paco, or went to La Solea, knows that the man is at his best and most comfortable when surround by the noise of people enjoying his hospitality. So the noise isn’t a design fault, or something that will go away, it is the very essence of the man and his restaurant!!!
After a quick drink with Paco we headed off to Al-rruz for a chat about a Taste Of Spain Champions League idea that we are working on. Of course that meant that we stayed there all afternoon drinking with them (well I did!!! Sands went home to sort out the cats etc and Juan Carlos insisted that as I had made him miss his siesta I had to stay and keep him company!). I was still there when Pam, Hazel and Mary turned up to try the Weekly Special which seemed to go down very well. As I recall the prawns they all had to start were excellent, and the paella was declared the best they had ever had at Al-rruz. Couldn’t comment on the deserts as I had drifted over to Mac Gowans by then where I had a quick chat with Alberto about something we are working on, and then got dragged inside by the Soroko’s to meet the clients that they have this weekend. I am spending the day with them on Saturday taking some photographs and video for the group, which is always fun.
Eventually headed off home, only to drop my Canon G9 as I got my keys out at the apartment door!!! Unfortunately the LCD display has cracked (on the inside not the outer case) and doesn’t work at all. Luckily the camera still works so will just have to use the view finder in the future. Sands was none to impressed with me to be honest, but I took a photo just to check that the camera was working ok:

A somewhat interesting day it has to be said, and a very quiet day today I think!!!
