You will notice that we have added a number of new features to the site, all of which should be mutually beneficial. At the top of the right hand sidebar you will see over time a variety of offers that you can take advantage of that will range from Travel Insurance, Mobile Phones, Satellite TV, Credit Cards, Properties etc. Towards the bottom of the right hand sidebar you will see a Amazon.co.uk store so you can shop for anything on Amazon directly from the site. If you want to buy a Amazon gift voucher for someone then open up any of the posts and you will see a banner at the bottom of the post that you can click on.

I just wanted to give you a very quick ‘heads up’ that the AL2.0 site changes that we have mentioned have started to take effect. 80% of them will take place in a ‘big bang’ style when we actually install the new theme, but in the meantime a few minor amendments may come and go so please bear with us and don’t worry. Both during the transition and post the transition everything that is currently on the site will still be on the site, just not necessarily in the same place as you have got used to. So either hunt around a little or email us and we will point you in the right direction.

Statistics damn statistics!!!

The ‘thing’ with Google is that where you crop up on a search depends on so many variables, and changes from day to day that in a way it is pretty pointless worrying about where you are in the list. One variable that is outside of anyones control is which google people use i.e. although I am in Spain I can use .com, .co.uk or .es to search, and I tend to use them all from time to time.

El Farol is one of the oldest bars in Almerimar, run by Oscar who is a real personality and a lovely guy. It is situated in what we know call The Square but has been there for years long before the square became the square if you see what I mean. I sometimes think El Farol and Algarbe the other traditional Spanish bar next door become a little lost in among all the other restaurants and cafes that are now there. If you haven´t tried it please do as it is friendly, very relaxed and great value.

We received these pictures from the Boatcompany, one of our sponsors, from their very successful 4th Annual Regatta. By far the biggest and the best to date the race took place in the morning and afterwards the teams adjourned to Havana bar for drinks, paella and a barbecue.

The concept of the open air, large paella is one of the great things about partying here in Almerimar, keep it simple, keep it fun and enjoy both the food and the company, and of course the weather.
