Spanish Wedding Etiquette
December 10th, 2007 - Sandra MarshallEver been to a Spanish wedding? Well for starters it could be an expensive affair, although you won’t need to worry about wedding lists. It all seems to be very practical; presents are out, and cash (min 100€!) is in. Also there appears no need to track down a lovely little reply card as a phone call will do.
The thinking behind the 100€ gift is that “you are attending a banquet, so the amount should cover the cost of your meal. Above that will depend on how dear the newly-weds are to youâ€?.
Other things to expect are the first (yes) waltz, and the fact that all the girls will be dressed up to the nines in cocktail finery. If you want more details click below, but I loved the final tip in the article:
“Spanish weddings are big social occasions with many fascinating traditions, so if you turn up ready to enjoy yourself and observe what goes on, you’ll find that gift was money well spent.”
