Spain Smoking Ban Approved
December 13th, 2010 - Chris MarshallThe vote in the Spanish Senate today has passed the government’s planned reforms to the Smoking Law, which will come into effect on 2nd January.
Separate smoking areas for bars were turned down in the vote, as was delaying the legislation until July
The proposed legislation now goes back to the lower chamber of parliament next week, when the governing Socialist Party’s spokesperson for the Senate, Cristina Maestra, has said the separate smoking areas approved on Monday will be overturned, although they have made an exception for casinos, bingo halls and gaming halls.
