Sat Nav for the Road King Classic

November 16th, 2008 - Chris Marshall

With a bit of luck I will be bringing the Road King Classic back to Almerimar early 2009 and doing some touring round Spain in May.

Being a gadget addict this is obviously an opportunity to buy a GPS system for the bike …..

Of course being a Harley anything I buy will have to ‘look the part’ and in particular mount neatly ad securely. I can hard wire it into the bike if necessary, or can run on batteries …… relaxed about that one to be honest.

At the moment the Garmin Zumo 550 looks a good option, with the left hand controls and the bluetooth compatibility very attractive. The TomTom Rider V2 also looks very good.

The question I have to anybody that rides a motorbike and uses a GPS is what would you recommend?

Chris bought himself a Garmin, couldn’t tell you which, and as you know he doesn’t know how to use it …… maybe you should do us all a favour and buy it off him as I am sure he wont ever use it!!!!

Although I am not sure how it would fit on a Harley. I would say that the TomTom V2 is a good option. I am sure that there are custom mounts that could be made/bought.
