Rugby World Cup 2011
October 2nd, 2011 - Chris MarshallTime to get serious then. So far I have watched the few games I have bothered with at home, but now we are at the sharp end thought has to be given to which bar to start watching the knock out stages in.
And this is important. Whichever bar I watch the next England game in has to be the bar for the rest of the tournament. If England win, and let’s face it they should beat France, then Ireland or Wales (I reckon Ireland), before a final against South Africa or New Zealand, which I reckon will be South Africa who were my choice to win at the beginning, then it is unlucky to change.
On the other hand if they lose on Saturday I wouldn’t be bothered about watching the other games in a bar.
Although …… looking at the diary as I write this, my parents will be here semi-final weekend, and on the Sunday of the final I will be driving re-homed cats to Germany so won’t be able to watch the final anyway.
Hadn’t realised that! We put the date back from this weekend for the transport a couple of weeks ago and it totally slipped my mind.
All of which gives me a dilemma! If I watch the quarter final in a bar and England win it will be unlucky if I don’t watch the semi-final, which I could BUT should I if I know now that I will break the luck by not being here for the final? Or does not being here not count?
One to ponder during the week then.
