Redundancy Cover Offered On Your Holidays

January 17th, 2009 - Chris Marshall

A sure sign of the times is the fact that Thomson and First Choice have just announced that they are offering “redundancy cover” to holiday makers who book in January. Earlier in the month Flybe said they would provide refunds on flights booked in January if you lost your job.

All very well and good, but still a case of pressurising people to spend money when they don’t really need to, and maybe feel uncomfortable doing so?

When claiming, customers would need to prove that they had been in work for at least two years and that they had been sacked. They would then be entitled to a refund of their deposit and of the final balance up to one month before departure.

Another first ….. can taste me some Al-rruz special already :-)

You have to admit they are being creative and vaguely understanding but I tend to agree with you, it is only January, and the future is SOOOOO uncertain, why would anyone feel the need to book a holiday yet?????

I agree. I don’t think anybody should be getting ‘pressured’ into buying anything that isn’t a necessity at the moment.
