Music Tonight In Guardias Viejas - Malagasy Gospel of Madagascar
July 4th, 2008 - Chris MarshallThe summer season of music gets under way tonight in Guardias Viejas with the Malagasy Gospel of Madagascar choir. As I understand it the choir includes several blind children and has recently been invited to take the Tour of Bernabeu in Madrid.
The Foundation ‘Agua de Coco’, which is responsible for this development project in Madagascar by creating schools, community centres and libraries, has formed the ‘Gospel Malagasy’ with the aim of improving the conditions of these children, away from child labour, which this month June visit Spain.
All the concerts are free and take place in the courtyard of the castle. They tend to be very popular so I suggest that if you are going you get there early. As with every social event in Spain there is a bar and the view over the sea is spectacular from the castle so it is well worth taking a stroll before the concert, which is scheduled to start at 10.30pm
This is the first in a series of regular concerts at the castle from a variety of artists covering a wide range of musical tastes. You can see them all in the Event Calendar
