Nope, not you! The plugin seems not to be working. Just checked on a couple of other blogs and it isn't working on them as well.

The developers site says he has wiped his database in error as well.

I will try and get this fixed as soon as I can :-)

Just checked this latest comment and it is not editable (so I can´t correct the spelling of straight).

Wonder if this is another example of something specific to my set up (like the non-display of Google ads) or whether this is something more general.

Perhaps one of the other readers can say whether they get the edit and quote option when they first add a comment?

Yep, you see the Edit and Quote links at the top of your comment. Click Edit. You have 30 minutes after submitting your comment to do so ...... after that it self destructs :-)

And having re-read my comment I can see some typos. Is there any way that users can edit their comments after they have been published?

Hi,

I agree with the comments in support of the material about cats. I feel it is relevant to the blog because it is a big part of your life here.

On this issue of more material about Almerimar. You will see that the blog has a national and international focus as well as having material about Almerimar. This is by design. Local material is only part of what the blog is trying to cover.

Jacqui and I know that this is the case as we have just started working with Chris and Sands to help provide some of the local material for the blog. In parallel with continuing working on our own site about Almerimar which has much more of a local focus.

We feel that the two complement each other and by working together both can benefit from an increase in the amount and quality of local material. For example, both contain material about the upcoming Burn Night event here in Almerimar. However, only one of us has to gather the material. We can then share it and publish it each with our own slant. This is much more efficient that both of us gathering the material separately.

Whilst not paticularly being fond of cats, I have no issue at all with any of the articles that are posted. I would like to commend the blog for providing me with ALL news from my second home (Almerimar). Thanks to this excellent site, I am able to keep up with all the news on a daily basis. Thank goodness for diversity.

As always, keep up the good work. You provide an important part of my daily routine. Without your site, I would be at a loss.

Couldn't leave this at 13 comments!!! And besides, Saidi wanted to say thanks to you all - well she would if she could talk, so for now you will have to settle for a meow!!!

Oh and Wayne (and the rest I guess) http://morenosworld.com for some unedited video footage of her first few days here.

If this site was run by the town of Almerimar, then you might question this post. This site as far as I know is run privately. You might have noticed that there is a lot of information about Almerimar, and I think it's a great service to the town. So if Chris and Sands want to help the town by adopting a stray cat, that's wonderful. Not only they are putting the town on the map, with great advertising for the town, they also try to help with an obvious problem of stray cats.
That's my take on this.

Although I agree that the site should contain news related to Almerimar it is after all a blog, and it is always refreshing to have a glimpse into the writers life so you (as a reader) can get a better idea of who is doing the writing.
Not to mention the fact that stray cats are clearly a very relevant issue in Almerimar.

I think it's great to bring a humanizing aspect to the blog. I've had enough of blogs that are so sterile and only comment on one aspect of one thing instead of everything that has to do with life!

What tells more about a community then how they take care of one another, especially those less fortunate. (Animals included.)

So keep up the good work. I especially like the videos, too. That, along with the blog posts are like a little slice of Almerimar, and that's what it's all about, isn't it?

Comments about all aspects of Almerimar life must be welcome. The wild cats are an important part of pest control and I for one would rather have them properly looked after. Telling us about how the contributions have been spent is very helpful so keep up the good work. As a life long dog lover I'm glad I don't live too near any of the unhappy animals that bark day and night because they are unhappy. Cats are quiet and clean and they do not foul the pavements and beaches. Those who help look after them are to be complimented and encouraged.

Also while I have my ranting shoes on...

Just wanted to say that the site has also been a great resource for me over the past few months. I have been planning my annual golfing expedition from the UK for the end of January and have found much of the information on the site very useful in terms of getting a feel for the area and looking at courses.

Chris has also very kindly kept me up to date on the weather situation in the region by email, so hats off for the personal touch.

I've been a long time reader of the blog and it's GREAT to see that the sponsorship money has gone to such great use.

Let's also not forget that the blog belongs to Chris and Sands and I for one have no issue at all with reading about the latest addition to their 'family'... what could be a truer reflexion of real Almerimar Life.

Keep up the great work on a fantastic site guys.

Hi Alberto. Looking to put more local content on there. I'm going to continue to put some personal stuff on the mini post 'personal journal', and the cats are a little topical at the moment following Chris's sponsored run; it's a way of telling people who gave money what is happening.
We're aiming for the site to be part personal, part Almerimar, and part expat stuff re. living in Spain generally.
Thanks for the feedback.

What total rubbish that comment is!!!

1. Almerimar Life is OUR site about OUR life here in Almerimar.

2. Helping 'sort out' the stray cats is something that we have done through this site for a while now and will continue to do so.
