Medieval Market

Last weekend we visited the Medieval Fare in Dársena 2. Personally I find this Dársena the least exciting of the three. It is the largest and in many ways should be the ‘best’ in terms of boutiques, cafes, bars etc but there is very little. Maybe it will get better over the years, but it must be said that it is perfect for all the small street stalls that make up the Medieval Fare.
Like any other ‘market’ it has changed since it first arrived, and it is now basically a professional market with a medieval ‘theme’. The range of goods is somewhat limited, and they have become more expensive, but they are good quality. There are a lot more food stalls than before, and the children’s donkey ride and swings are somewhat primitive BUT it has a huge amount of charm, is free, provides an interesting break from the norm and is very very enjoyable.
It is an event that we ’support’ every year, and provides a good opportunity to buy different soaps, home made chocolates, as well as the usual suspects at these type of markets - jewelry, towels, stuff that you wake up the next morning wondering why the hell you bought it ……….

And don’t worry if you missed the fare last week, they will be back the weekend of the 15th and 16th August.
