Little Pepe Update

You may remember Pepe the little cat with the damaged tail that I rescued back in April? Well he is now in Germany, with a new family, doing well and I feel very very pleased!!! He is my first complete success, and was definitely a rescue, as when I first saw him he was starving and also badly injured.
As I couldn’t have taken him home, it was great to be able to take him to Gisela’s cat rescue Casa De Los Gatos to be taken care of and re-homed. He is a gorgeous friendly little thing and is our first cat who has gone all the way through the system, via another foster home in Germany, and then almost immediately to a final home with new ‘parents’! I am relieved things worked so fast for him as he had really got to me and I may have been trying to persuade Chris that a third cat was a good idea!
It IS definitely a great feeling to have helped, and although there are many more that need helping it is nice to know that the system so far has given one of our little Almerimar strays a happy life.
The funds from the ran out a long time ago and we have been getting by with a few personal donations, a book sale or two organised by Pam, a DVD sale and our own money (can’t say how much as I haven’t told Chris!!!)
We are looking for ideas for and help with a bigger fund-raiser, but for now all we can do for new strays is advise and point people in the right direction, as the small donations and initiatives that our ongoing are for specific animals. However every little counts and to date we have helped around 20 animals. Not a bad start!
