Two New Port Projects For Roquetas

November 16th, 2009 - Chris Marshall

Hopefully this November will see the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia sign off on two new projects proposed by the Ministry of Works and Transport of the Junta de Andalucía to modernise the Port Roquetas de Mar.

The projects include a sports area and an improvement to the fishing area of the port.

Both projects are plannned for completion in the first half of 2010, with a total cost of 1.5m€.

The improvements to the fishing area include offices for the port and toilets and forty-two rooms built for shipowners in the dam west of the fishing port.

The second project involves: pre-demolition of Steel exhibiting poor state and affecting the redevelopment of car parks as scarification of the pavement of the road. Then work will start to integrate the port city on Avenida Antonio Machado, which will pave the road, at 4,300 square feet, and steel of 788 square meters. The works will be used to remove architectural barriers, rearrange the traffic, install a new vertical and horizontal signaling and, above all, build a playground designed for children and seniors. In this way, will have children’s play area, reading area with concrete benches and months, and a circuit apparatus for gymnastic exercises with gentle maintenance and rehabilitation.
