More Local Services In Almerimar?

November 19th, 2009 - Chris Marshall

Ever since we have lived in Almerimar there has been talk of Almerimar getting independence from El Ejido. The first sign of this was the introduction of the Almerimar post code (04711) rather than the 04700 one that was first used when we moved here.

Then when they started buiding Porto Fino we heard that the 6,000 square metres at the bottom was going to house a health centre, townhall offices, police station, post office etc.

So far ……… nada!

Still things may be looking up as talks recently with Adela Cantón from the Equipment of Government and local retailers and representatives have been reported as positive by Josefina Escudero and Mari Carmen Rovira.

The plan still seems to move Almerimar away from it’s dependency and control by El Ejido. Another meetting is set for January 2010, with a view to getting it structured into the legislative.
