Dorada a la Plancha

November 22nd, 2009 - Chris Marshall

Dorada a la Plancha is one of those dishes that when you order it in a restaurant in Spain looks like it is difficult to cook, and expensive to prepare. It isn’t!

About Dorada a La Plancha

In many ways it is a dish that since we have been living in Spain has come to represent the simplicity of cooking in Spain. It has very few ingredients, requires little preparation and is easy to cook. Like a lot of Spanish dishes though it can be messy!!!

Ingredients

  • Dorado
  • Garlic
  • Pepper
  • Virgin Olive Oil
  • Oregano

Preparation

  • Open the Dorada in half.
  • Cut the garlic slices.
  • Pour a little olive oil on the griddle and fry the garlic slices.
  • Once golden, remove and put to one side.
  • Put the Dorada on the grill and cover in the Olive Oil, Garlic and Oregano
  • Grill until cooked to your preference. We like them well done, i.e. NO slimy fish!
  • Put the Fish under a hot grill for a couple of minutes to finish off if you want a nice crisp top to the fish

Serving Suggestion

Eat with boiled potatoes that have been slightly deep fried and fried green peppers.

Don’t you hate reading cooking receipes that make your mouth water and you haven’t got the ingredients to cook it right away!
