More likely, Boras gave the Yankees a deadline of this weekend to make their final offer.
    ….

BorASS at it again, maybe Damon should dump him and his commission and work out his own deal so all the 2-5 million he gets will be his.

Give him a Pettite deal. $5mil + incentives and be done with it. $5mil is chicken feed for the Yankees and Damon back to the Yankees would be beneficial for both parties…

YankeeBaseball makes sense. Damon’s bad back, poor arm and Boras, scares others away or he’d have been signed by now. JD should take this deal with the Yanks. Maybe it leaks out that the same contract & incentives deal is being offered to a couple of others, like Nady or Hank Blalock (could be a left-handed hitting force in the Stadium), or whoever. The first taker gets the deal & maybe a WS ring. To compete against AL pitching, the back end of the batting order sorely needs more pop.

In the beginning part of the 2nd sentence, the word "possible" was a typo omission error. It should read: Damon’s possible bad back, etc.

I just don’t see Gardner getting on base enough. He NEEDS to consistently get on base, yet he’s a relatively poor bunter? Better we get a quality major leaguer in there. Boston’s pitching is superb this year. We can’t afford to take any chances here…

Damon’s my first choice and if we don’t snag him, I guess Nady (if healthy???).

Also, Tatis is a guy I’d love to add to the bench. Good pop and excellent flexibility…

  6. Lefty Says:

Bullseye! Gardner has GREAT speed, but it’s useless if he can’t get on base. He must adjust his swing thru the anticipated path of the pitch so he can hit more line drives instead of that "chop" swing, and be more proficient in pushing or dragging bunts. His 2009 plate performance is unacceptable. If he’d only improve his hitting skills, he’d be a terrific asset. Boston has a real nice mound mix for sure, and other teams have improved as well.
Damon or Nady could work. What about Ranger FA Hank Blalock learning to play the outfield? His swing is made for the stadium.
Thought I read Tatis was linking up with some team already.
