Items that caught the eye for one reason or another recently include:
Of Local Interest
The article on the Almería protest march got a lot of coverage elsewhere on the Internet and we got a call from a producer at ITV in the Uk about providing the video footage for a documentary they are putting together. Add that to the Sky News coverage before Christmas and we are starting to get some reay good visibility for the site, and therefore Almerimar.
The local golfers now have a new Web site Golf Almerimar Torneos to record the results etc of the various competitions that they organise. Shame the course is still in such poor condition …… and the Friday golfers are going to have to find a new place to drink after they play as Las Marías has shut its doors less than 6 months after it opened!
The Burns Night supper at Restaurant El Espignon is getting closer (24th January), with some tickets still available from the Alamar Chandlery.
It really is very quite at the moment, but we have now added a RSS feed to the site that links directly to the Events Calendar RSS Feed so you can subscribe and get the information of any events sent directly to your computer (see this article for more information on RSS Feeds)
Around Spain
Snow!!! That is about the only none credit crunch news that I read about this week, with Madrid airport suffering as much as anywhere else.
Elsewhere in Europe
The news is dominated really by the credit crunch and as far as the UK is concerned it is obvious already that Britons are taking fewer foreign holidays, which isn’t good news at all!
About Almerimar
Almerimar is located in the region of Andalucia, Spain. The nearest airport is 30km away in Almeria. Other airports that are within 3 hours include Malaga, Murcia, Granada, and Alicanti. Other holiday resorts in the region include Mojacar , Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar
Almerimar is a great place to live as an expat amongst the expats, or to work amongst the Spanish. There are all kinds of properties including villas, apartments and town houses for rent or sale. It is a very traditional part of Spain, with traditional Spanish foods so if you plan to travel to Spain either to look for jobs, for your company to trade with companies in Spain, or to learn Spanish and enjoy the Spanish weather then come and take a look.
