Good Times Ahead For Almeria
June 8th, 2008 - Chris MarshallNever one to take much interest in politics (national or local) in the UK I certainly can’t be accused of knowing much about it here, but I did come across what seems like good news recently!
The recently elected Junta de Andalucia (think it has something to do with the PSOE party) is going to hold the first ever Governing Session in Almería, where they are expected to announce:
- An increase in spending to try and combat the current economic downturn
- 100m€ top be spent on Agriculture, to include:
- 1.5m€ on a Agricultural Investigation Laboratory in Almería University
- 30m€ on watering systems
- 20m€ to replace the greenhouse plastic with proper glass and make them long term constructions
- 11m€ for Agro Industry
It is also expected that the Junta will lift the death tax on property inheritence between direct family members to 175.000€.
The article also mentioned 100m€ for retraining construction workers as well, and 300m€ for low cost loans to SME’s.
All sounds very promising to me!!!
