Fund Raisers
May 23rd, 2008 - Sandra MarshallMore fund raisers are needed as the Almerimar Strays fund from Chris’s sponsored run and the treasure hunt is now empty. We have been able to help a number of animals, recently 5 dogs and 7 cats/kittens, and I am also pleased that as a result we have found a cat rescue home and agreed cheap prices for sterilisations for both cats and dogs. Collection tins are still in a number of bars, and individuals have more book sales and specific initiatives planned. We are also hoping to have another big fund raiser later in the year. Overall thank you to everyone who has helped and contributed so far; I feel we have achieved a lot and also helped to raise awareness of the problem.
However I have realised as I posted yesterday that this is an ongoing problem in Almerimar. I am sorry that there are no funds to help further right now. We are always going to need more money, so any ideas and initiatives are always welcome.
One further point: If anyone is wondering how the money is being spent, please refer them to AlmerimarLife.com. I publish frequent updates giving details of the animals that have been helped.
