Faces In The Rocks In Almerimar

April 15th, 2009 - Chris Marshall

Indian Face

You may read this post and think that I have finally lost the plot, but be patient, let me explain! I have run along the beaches (sorry blue flag beaches) here in Almerimar many many times before, and until yesterday had never noticed the faces that look out at me from amongst the rocks!

As I ran towards the above rock yesterday I couldn’t help but see the ‘face’ of the Indian watching me. Think I am mad? Seriously look carefully at the top left, see the pointed nose with the recessed eye above it, and the inset of a mouth just below the nose. He even seems to have a pointing finger on his crossed knees.

Now do you see it?

It doesn’t end there as you will see below:

Sheeps Head

Large Cat

Rabbit

Bears Head

Went back along the beach this morning with Sands to take these photos and check that I wasn’t seeing things. Sands reckons that she can see what I am on about …… the question is can you!!!

It’s ok Chris you are not going mad,i see the same thing as well. How spooky,at times in life things are very strange.Maybe there is a hidden meaning to all of this

Cool. Thanks for the reassurance :-)

reminds me of when I was a child making patterns from the wallpaper, carpet and curtains…they are indeed there and as real as you want them to be

  4. Chris Marshall Says:

    That is cool.

Told Sands reminded me of a night camping in Senior year in Mpls!!!! Saw all kinds of things that night.

If you look at the sheeps head one from the right it looks like a seal

Saw the ‘Indian’ right away before I even read the post. Can sort of see some of the others. Some more than others. The ‘bear’ and ‘rabbit’ definitely.

So you’re not mad. Well, not totally anyway. :-)

  6. Chris Marshall Says:

Phew that is good to know!!

Is interesting seeing which people do and don’t see so far

While looking at these, I thought to myself, that any minute now something is going to jump out from the screen trying to scare me. Yes I can see the indian, and the rabbit, but the other three escape me. Either you are running a clever experiment to see how many people will agree with you, just not to show their ignorance because they can’t see a bloody thing, or this relaxed spanish life made you soft :)
Well I’m not a sheep and I do not see the sheep, the cat, or the bear. So there …. your experiment has missed it’s mark on me. :)

Still interesting to make people actually look.

  8. David Jackson Says:

Take more water with it, is my kindly advice.

    :)

Really? The consensus on Twitter was very much that everybody could see at least 4, if not 5!!!

Next time we chat I will talk you through them, is a case of not looking too hard sometimes!!!

Ha Ha that may be the answer!!!

  11. Sandra Marshall Says:

Well they DO look pretty amazing, but I am half with Dave Jackson on this one! I ran past and didn’t notice a thing. However I do tend to look at my feet a lot so maybe that is it. Anyway THANKYOU for showing me what I had missed.

The ‘Large cat’ one suddenly clicked and once I’ve seen it it’s obvious. Eyes, ears, nose, the lot. Rabbit one looks evil to me like one of the evil rabbits in the dream in Watership Down. The bear is a bit featureless to me, but definitely a bear head shape. It’s just the sheep one I can’t really see beyond a vague shape.

Anyway, I should probably stop obsessing about rocks and do some work. :-)

    Nice post Chris..

I can see all, with the exception of the Sheep’s Head.. ;-)

Bu their again, with 3 kids running rings around me as per usual, perhaps my sight is waning so late in the day! HeHe

I got this a couple of months ago whilst in the Torrevieja Marina = http://www.flickr.com/photos/youngun/3240346909/

For the sheeps head take the back spot on the left as its nose, and the black slit above it to the right as the eye …..

    Now get back to work!!!!
