Coffee @ Café Noray

February 12th, 2008 - Sandra Marshall

Realised that I had not mentioned one of the other really good cafes in Almerimar yet. This morning we fancied a coffee and, as The Square was deserted, we wandered round the corner into Darsena 3 and sat in the outside area of Café Noray with a great view of the water and boats. Next door to the cafe they now have a little bistro type restaurant that I have been told does very good pizzas among other more Spanish dishes. Café Noray is unique in that at certain times in the day instead of a biscuit with your coffee you get a mini ice-cream which is a treat. Also I like the very friendly Spanish couple who own it, the fact that it has been around a long time, the good coffee, ice-cream by the water in Summer, and, as I discovered today, the fact that unlike most other places coffee is still 1€!

But no ice cream today :-(

Probably because we ordered a Tostado, but maybe because we were a little later that we used to be - who knows!!!!

We can also say that the pizzas are very tasty and have a thin crispy base which we prefer.have also had lovely salads in the Noray - my favourite being the Prawn and Avocado.Their housewines - both Tinto and Rosado are excellent and you are given a very generous glassfull. It is also lovely and warm inside the restaurant - a bonus on these cold winter evenings. The husband and wife team who own the Restaurant are always most welcoming.
