I will have to agree on the Pogues song.... one of my favorites. It is definitely on the christmas playlist :)
Never had an artificial tree for Christmas. As I remember it was always a real one. I remember when we lived in the northwest territories, we actually went into the forest to cut our own tree. Now this was an adventure. Snow almost to your waist, with -30C weather, and me with an axe wondering through the quiet forest. That will be hard to forget.

Can't argue with that one. Heard it last night funnily enough and realised that it could easily have made the above list!!!

I am sure having a family means different traditions. I think if we didn't live in an apartment a real tree may be considered but by the time we had dragged it up here I think it would be sparse to say the least!!!!

Christmas does not arrive into my house until about half way through december. We already parted with the tradition of decorating the christmas tree on Christmas Eve. This was the tradition in many polish households when I was growing up. But we still hold the tradition of a real christmas tree. It's a family affair to go out and pick one together. Lots of fun. Then in the spring time, we started another "tradition" of burning the christmas tree in our fire pit. Sort of good bye winter type of thing.

Just wanted to say that I think the quality of your posting has gone up a notch recently. They were always good, but you seem to be doing more in depth stuff these days that I am finding really interesting.

Thanks
