Celebrating Chestnuts!

I reckon you know you are adapting to the wonders of the diverse Spanish culture when you can read about a fiesta to celebrate the Chestnut, and not find it remotely strange!

In Galicia each autumn Ourense celebrates the Fiesta de magosto, with picnics of wine, sardines, chorizo, churrasco and of course roasted chestnuts.

Tourists are offered the roasted chestnuts and a glass of milk, I kid you not!

The fiesta this year is on the 11th November.
