A slightly frustrating afternoon had an unexpected highlight! We were planning to take the first 2 of our kittens up to the rescue home today, but our attempts to catch the little buggers failed, which was no surprise, but it would have been nice if things had gone to plan. Anyway plan B was to finally buy Mum some postcards, and tea at La Plaza followed. Mum likes cake so I was tempted to share a piece with her again, and the banana and honey sponge with a ‘light coffee’ cream didn’t disappoint! Who knows, Heather’s home made English style cakes may become an Almerimar speciality!

House of CatsOur friends managed to catch one of their strays- Georgina - a really pretty cat who is pregnant,and we took it up to Gisela who runs the cats sanctuary, she settled in and will see the vet asap- our friends kindly paid half of the fee, and we took up bags and bags of cat litter and a large bag of dried food.Gisela loaned me a state of the art cat catching basket and hopefully on Friday Sandra and I will manage to get 2 of our strays into it - enticed with prawns and tuna!! I am also hopeful that Donna of Alldays will manage to catch a very small white kitten which is hanging around her shop and is far too small to be left in the street - that will also go up on Friday if she is successful.Gisela’s vet does not charge for neutering male cats if they are returned from whence they came - he just clips the ear to show that it has been done - but we will make a donation anyway as the cat is kept overnight - and I have earmarked a very friendly black cat who has recently joined my gang outside Alldays - his carousing days are numbered!!so slowly we will get there and hopefully reduce numbers in the future.
