The formal delivery of the haggis to Master of Ceremonies Alex Petit preceded his address of the ‘wee timorous beastie’ which he then stabbed to death with actual blood spurting from the frenzied scene. This, we soon realised, was caused by a misguided blow with his dagger to his other hand.

After the meal Ian McKnight insulted the ladies present by comparing them to dogs during his toast to the lassies and Irene Fielden retaliated in vitriolic manner in her toast to the ladies. All very entertaining and light hearted and no offence was taken and, presumably, none intended.
