Birthday Lunch @ Nautico

April 1st, 2008 - Sandra Marshall

Just back from Lisa’s birthday lunch @ The Nautico. Great fun, lots of vino and laughs and we ended up at Esentia for more drinks and a little boogie. It was interesting to go to the Nautico after so long, as it is one of the oldest, smartest restaurants in Almerimar. If I’m totally honest the food is not the best value, quality for cost, but it’s fine with sauces in abundance, and if you are looking for somewhere a little more posh for a special meal then the service is good, and you can’t really beat the big tables, white tablecloths and the fantastic view of Darsena one. I had a great time, including some wicked tiramiso brithday cake, and a toast for each of lisa’s (fortunately not too many) years, and now it may be time for a little siesta. Happy Birthday Lisa one more time!

I think that that Nautico is overpriced and over rated! The lamb chops are way better (and cheaper) at Asador. Sure it isn’t the same ambience but value for money and quality of food beats ambience every time in my wallet!!!

It was a great lunch, and great service, but way more than you need to pay for food. Looking at the people’s steaks I would go to Al-rruz ever time - cheaper and much better!

Funny enough bumped into our neighbours just after I posted the above comment and they said pretty much the same thing.

Is a shame as the location of the restaurant is great, but it was pretty much empty so no ambience, and 40€ per person for a mediocre meal was way more than you need to pay here!

Have to agree again Chris - went a few times a year or so ago but felt it was overpriced and the staff weren’t as friendly as we would have expected or liked. We prefer to go to the Yachting and Golf which serves exactly the same menu except that the portions are larger and Paco the waiter is wonderful.

Yeah, two agreements in one day, that is a first for me - thanks!!!

As I recall Emma is a fan of the Yacht & Golfing???

We have been, but tend not to go out for that type of meal.
