Beach Football In Almerimar (Video & Photos)
August 10th, 2008 - Chris Marshall
Yesterday I went down to take some photographs and video of the Junior Beach Football for Inés and Juan Carlos as Jaunmi (son of Jaun Carlos) was playing. Things didn’t go so well …….
They didn’t know what time the games were so I was mid siesta (5pm) when they rang to say that the first game had already been played (not a problem as they has missed it as were in the restaurant), and they had lost. The next game was due to kick off at 6pm which gave me time to get my stuff together and cycle down. 5.15 Inés rang again to say the kick off was 5.30!!! Grabbed the camera bag, jumped in the Jeep and headed down to the beach, to be met by Inés with a welcome JD & Diet.
At that point I realised that I had forgotten the Video camera!!! Not ideal but I had the N95 on me so was able to stream some video to QIK and record some pretty good quality action stuff (see below).
The boys drew their game, having led for most of it, but needed to grab an equalizer with the last kick of the match.
I was impressed with the overall quality of the football, and the organisation was good as usual. It was really pleasant on the beach at that time of day. Of course it was more pleasant in Coco Beach where we retired for 2 or 3 drinks before heading back to watch the third match, which they lost.

It was now 8pm and Juan Carlos had to get back to the restaurant, so I went and had a couple of drinks with Kris in Mc Gowan’s:

Sands rang to say that she fancied coming down for some food so I picked her up and we grabbed some food at La Plaza:

It was very busy. A couple of readers of the blog stopped by to introduce themselves and talk about the 12seconds.tv idea. They are going to try and drop the site’s name into a presentation when they next do one. A large number of the ‘regular golfers’ were in which was good to see, and just as we were thinking of heading off a couple of neighbours sat down for a drink.
On the way back we called in at AL-rruz to see how they had got in with their last match (lost) and to say goodbye to Peter and Barbara who are heading back to the UK today (sorry can’t get the grin off my face!!!)

As we were stood outside chatting some friends passed by trying to persuade us into Mc Gowans but I was sensible for once and we headed back home.
