Ashai Japanese Restaurant

April 21st, 2008 - Sandra Marshall

Thank you again to Alex Adamson-Leigh for another restaurant review. This one is a little further away in Almeria but is definitely one I have been meaning to try and I really like Japanese food, and it seems from the location that we girls could fit in a little shopping either side of lunch!

Thought you´d like to know that we recently came across a Japanese restaurant in Almeria. The sushi was very authentic and most of the large selection of dishes beautifully presented with true Japanese artistic flair. A wide selection of what I prefer to call “eastern” dishes were offered and the service was second to none.. The staff were helpful and fully explained the different dishes available. As they say in Hawaii “not the best but hard to beat” is my verdict. Ashai has excellent street parking with the Mediteranneo Centro immediate opposite for a wide range of chain stores, supermarket and multipals under one roof. If you like Chinese food try this for a change, and it was reasonably priced at around €20 per head including a glass of wine or beer. Don´t go for the Japanese beer which at €3.50 a bottle is overpriced and no better than Spanish beer. The decor is very austere but the atmosphere is warm and you are made to feel like an “honoured guest”
