Almerimar Stinks
February 9th, 2012 - Chris MarshallIt stinks this morning in Almerimar! I suspect that the new council for Almerimar will be asked to look at this as a priority, along with the terrible state of many of the roads, the buildings needing a tidy up, the winter warn beaches and beach side properties.
Then maybe they can turn a thought to the problem of communities where people haven’t paid – pretty much most as far as I can tell – and the threat this poses to the employment of gardeners, cleaners etc and the long term damage to the properties.
It is hard to see that the Tourism Train hasn’t long gone for Almerimar (but as it was never planned as a tourist destination no real loss other than to those that thought they could will it to become one), but the real threat is to the Residential Tourist market: second home owners that come regularly through the year.
These people are struggling as it is to find the disposable income and flights to visit their properties but if the place isn’t kept it top shape they will come less and people will be less inclined to buy.
So maybe that is something we residents of Almerimar could get together and look at? A Make Almerimar Beautiful project with us all chipping in to clean and repair the place?
