FREE meals every month with Almerimar Life

Happy New Year! I am still in bed and no doubt you are as well, but I needed this to be the first post of 2009!

Regular readers will know that one way or another we frequent three bars/cafes/restaurants in the square here in Almerimar pretty frequently: Al-rruz, La Plaza and Mac Gowans. We have teamed up with them for 2009 to offer readers of the site three opportunities every month to win free meals in each of the restaurants:

Be The First To Comment

EVERY month we will be giving away two FREE Thursday night special meals at Al-rruz to commenters on the blog. ALL you need to do is to be the first person to comment on ANY post that we publish on the site in the month, and at the end of each month we will randomly select one comment and that person will win a FREE meal for two – extra booze NOT included!!! You can enjoy your meal on any Thursday throughout the year so don’t feel that just because you aren’t here you can’t participate, and of course if you want to gift your winning meals to a friend or family then we can arrange that as well.

All you need to do is leave a comment. It can be as short or long as you want. You can stalk the site and be the first (or at least try to be) on every post we make. Naturally Sands, myself and any of our family (J&J) (or Inés & Jaun Carlos) are excluded, and we will continue to moderate spam comments so that only genuine comments are included.

Most Frequent Commenter

Late in 2008 La Plaza introduced their themed specials that run every day.

In 2009 you have a chance to win a themed special meal for two on any day (again no booze included) each month, simply by commenting …. a lot! basically the most frequent commenter (Sands and I, J&J, Lee & Heather, & Spam excluded) each month will win a themed special meal for two, to be used at your own convenience or gifted to friends and family by prior agreement.

Most Humorous Comment

Mac Gowans have an excellent menu, including a daily special, and you have the chance of winning a special meal for two each month (again no booze included) by submitting what we judge to be the most humorous comment each month. You can see an example on this post.

Each month we will select the comment that made us laugh the most and reward the commenter with a free specials meal for two in Mac Gowans. Again Sands & I, J&J and Paul et al can’t win!!!

How It Works

Each month we will announce the winners on the blog, and will email them confirmation. We will also put the names up on a special poster in Al-rruz, La Plaza or Mac Gowans, and will notify the restaurants personally of the winners.

You can take the meal at any time of the year. Please note that a cash option is not available (you have to eat) ALL drink (with the exception of the inclusive drink on the Thursday evening at Al-rruz) is excluded, and during the summer the ‘specials’ may not run, in which case they will roll over to future months OR we will arrange for a discount to the respective value off your bill when you eat at the relevant restaurant.

Each restaurant will be as flexible as possible over any logistical and dietary needs, so please just talk to them (or us) if you have an issue. This is purely a way of trying to help promote three businesses that we enjoy spending time in!

Ideally we would like the winners to send us a review of the restaurant, or make a comment to share the experience and help promote the three businesses that are participating in this promotion. It isn’t compulsory but if you do we will all really appreciate it.

Thanks to the three participants, we have more promotions planned and set up for the year, but for now back to the hangover and when you surface …… get commenting!!!
