A Weekend With The Cats!

Very much a weekend with the cats for us. Orla has been ill for a while now. It seems that she has a virus, possibly linked to a infection in her gums. She has had difficulty breathing, a high temperature, and hasn’t really eaten that much. She has been to the vets on Wed (twice), Thu, Fri and Sat for injections to bring her temperature down and 2 types of antibiotics. Last night she seemed much better and this morning she was back to close to her playful best. For the first time since she has been ill she was playing on the bed, and then up on the roof with Saidi and Mori.

She has also been playing with her best friend Mori, who has been a total star, licking her, sleeping with her, and playing with her as soon as she felt like it:

Moreno has had an interesting weekend as well ……
As you know we have been looking after Smokey Boy who has made some really good improvements and is now down in Pam’s apartment getting some TLC. Before he went down though Mori spent a bit of time with him:

Mori has been a real star with all the strays that we have helped out with which is great. He still manages to retain his own unique personality though and yesterday we had a typical 3M (Mad Mori Moment) on the balcony when I was cleaning it. He loves the smell of the bleach, chasing the mop and as you can see in the video has his own unique way of dealing with the water:

Saidi on the other hand is really enjoying the weather. Every opportunity that she gets she is up on the rood demanding ‘rub a dubs’:

She is also getting on much better with Orla these days as well. They play a little and are more than happy in each other company:

The last two nights we have had all three of them on the bed, and Saidi has become a lot friendlier spending more time sitting on our knees or on the sofa with us in the evening. Last night she sat on my knee pretty much for the whole of The Illusionist, a film I enjoyed more than Sands although she did fall asleep for the third night in a row while watching a movie (The Gingerbreadman and Infamous being the other two) which was slightly ironic as she picked all three movies!!! Still she has been doing a lot with Almerimar Life Strays this week so she deserves the rest.
Apart from that the weekend included:
- Strictly come dancing – I could write a while post on the John Sergeant affair but to suffice to say that in saying that he thought he could have won it he missed the point TOTALLY i.e. the public have no say in the final so although they could have voted him through to the final he would NEVER have won. In saying he could he showed that he didn’t understand the rules, which is something he accused the judges of. So in the end he made a fool of himself, didn’t fulfill his contractual obligation and as it is license payers money he should be made to give it all back!!!
- Sport – so England are rubbish at cricket and rugby then at the moment!!! while the premiership which was somewhat tepid this week
- Rest – both feeling a little jaded at the moment and have a pretty busy run up to Christmas to get through so both just wanted to crash on the sofa for most of the weekend.
As for the week ahead I am hoping that my chest has cleared up enough to start doing a bit more exercise, and I have a lot of client stuff to do and some new ideas that I want to work on.
