12 Seconds TV
August 6th, 2008 - Chris MarshallAmong the recent changes that we have introduced to the site you will (hopefully) have noticed 12 Seconds TV. We have been invited to participate in this alpha testing of the new service.
Updated 7th August. La Plaza have agreed to sponsor any monthly competition that we run as mentioned below.
It is ‘yet another’ social network site in many ways, only this time as the name indicates it is limited to 12 second clips of video. A particularly neat feature (for us anyway) is that you can shoot some video on your mobile phone and email the clip directly to the site, which in turn will display it pretty much straight away here on Almerimar Life. That means we have two methods of bringing you pretty much live video.
Why do we need two? Well we don’t really ‘need’ two, but we are thinking that with 12 Seconds TV we may be able to do something really neat, that involves the readers of this blog. Options we are going to explore are:
- Video Journalism – provide readers with the ability to email their video clips direct to the site
- Promotion – send us a video clip promoting your business or event and we will post it for free on the site
- Video Competition – send us your video on whatever subject you want and we will run a monthly competition and provide a prize for the best one
- Your Say – video us your thoughts on the blog, questions you want answers to, say hi to friends and family etc

As we figure out what we are going to do with it we will let you know, and of course if you have any suggestions or want to get involved with this initiative please email us.
